Hey there — I’m Katie, founder, maker and heart behind Wood & Ash.

Back in 2019, I wasn’t planning to start a business. I was just a girl marrying the love of her life on a boat dock in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, trying to create a wedding that felt like us. That meant handcrafted charcuterie boards, cedar stump side tables, and all the little touches that made the day warm, welcoming, and just a little bit more magical. It was our first big project together. Jesse with his designer’s precision, me with my “let’s add a little flare here!” energy and it lit a spark I couldn’t ignore.

That spark became Wood & Ash.

With a background in product development and retail, I’ve always been inspired by well-made goods that tell a story. But starting my own business gave me something more, the chance to create pieces that don’t just sit in someone’s home, but play a part in their moments and memories.

Today, from my small studio in Michigan, I get to design and handcraft home goods and kitchen accessories that bring people together: live edge charcuterie boards, serving trays, wooden utensils… all made from natural materials, all built to last, and all ready to make your next gathering feel special.

Oh, and the name? Wood & Ash isn’t just about wood grain and firelight, it’s a nod to my cats, Asher and Sadie, who have been my fuzzy little mascots since day one.

Six years in, I still pinch myself that this is my job. I get to pour my heart into every piece I make, knowing it might be part of someone’s holiday dinner, girls’ night, or lazy Sunday morning spread.
